SALT SPRAY CABINETS

 

SALT SPRAY CABINETS are widely used to test components and coated panels for corrosion resistance throughout the automotive, paint, surface coating, chemical, aerospace, electronic, offshore and defence industries. Salt Spray Tests and found in various. forms in many National, lnternational and Corporate Standards, C & W cabinets are designed to meet and exceed these stringent requirements.

 

 

Standard Features include

  • EXTERNAL SALT SOLUTION RESERVOIR 114 litres capacity supplied on castors with integral filter; sufficient to allow 10 days continuous Operation. Easy cleaning to prevent algae growth and easy to fill.

  • HEAVY DUTY PERISTALTIC PUMP with VARIABLE SPEED For accurate control of salt solution flow to the atomiser, indispensable for precise collection rates; also eliminates atomiser blockage

  • ACCURATE FLOWMETER Flush mounted, to monitor salt solution flow.

  • SOPHISTICATED LUCITE ATOMISER For baffle free mist generation ensuring precise fall- out readings throughout the chamber.

  • AIR REGULATOR AND PRESSURE GAUGE To control and monitor the air pressure required for precise salt fog collection rates.

  • TEMPERATURE CONTROL Micro Processor based with full P.l.D. control and resin coated Pt 100 temperature sensor allowing simple keypad settings with accurate digital display. Temperature Range - Ambient to 55° C. +/-1° C.

  • INTERMITTENT CYCLE TIMERS for salt spray cycle/dry cycle testing or for pre-set continuous salt spray tests - fully adjustable salt/dry cycles.

  • HOUR METER Re-settable to record test duration or total hours run.

  • DRY/MOIST (humid) AIR CONTROL Simple switch-over device for required setting, depending upon specified Standard procedure.

  • HUMIDIFIER UNIT Compact internal air saturation unit, fully protected against overheating and low water. Automatic, self-filling system.

  • HUMIDIFIER UNIT TEMPERATURE CONTROL Digital display of water temperature adlustable for different air pressures as specified in Standards.

  • AIR PURGE SYSTEM Designed to enable the swift evacuation of salt mist from inside the chamber and to prevent laboratory contamination when examination of test specimens is required.

CCT CABINETS

The cabinets are designed to operate to any one or any combinabon of the following conditions in any sequence for any pre-set time.

Salt spray - All Corporate, National and International Standards.

Humidity - Constant or cyclic temperatures between ambient and 70 degrees centigrade with 98% Relative humidity.

Dry heat - Dry Heat conditions typically ambient to 70 degrees centigrade.

Air drying - Hot and cold air introduction.

Humidity - Cyclic temperature testing typically 42 - 48 - 42 °C as BS 3900 F2.

Dwell and ramp functions - variable humidity option 10% to 98% Rh, from ambient to 70°C.

Standard Features Include 

  • MICROPROCESSOR/CONTROLLER A high specification unit for control with the capacity to hold up to 20 programs. The controller is easy to operate with rapid program selection complete with manual over-ride facility, bar-graph display, program status display and cycles completed counter. All programs are protected with security code access.
  • TEMPERATURE RECORDER Continuous paper type chart recorder with ON/OFF control for individual test records.
  • FULL VISUAL DISPLAY All events, cycles and test conditions.
  • KEYLOCK A tamperproof security system to prevent unauthorised program access.
  • CABINET HUMIDIFIER Internal heated water bath with automatic level control ensures high Relative Humidity during the relevant periods of the test cycle.

HUMIDITY CONDITIONING CABINETS

C & W cabinets are designed to meet the Environmental testing requirements of the paint, plastic, packaging, paper, board, electronic, automotive, aerospace, military, textile and telecommunications industries.

The units function as variable humidity, temperature humidity, environmental, climatic or conditioning cabinets. Temperature and humidity testing and product conditioning is of vital importance to the research chemist, development engineer and quality assurance manager to ensure the product is researched developed and manufactured to a standard guaranteed to survive the environment for which it is designed.
